Once again LabelExpo is the premier world event for the label industry. We will be showing our latest Discovery developments for the label and ticket market.

We will be showcasing the latest enhancement to our Discovery suite of inspection solutions at Labelexpo Europe 2011.  Discovery boasts a full integration of Print Quality and Variable Data Inspection features suitable for use on a range of hardware, from digital presses to narrow web lines.   

Integrated functionality includes

Real Time barcode grading to ISO/IEC 15416:2000

Full print qualtiy inspection in mono and colour

Perf and slit inspection

Variable data verification for OCR, BCR, 2D and QR

Colour registration inspection

Fault identification with roll mapping

Reporting and networking for all critical production and quality processes.

Discovery uses high-resolution linescan camera technology to image 100 per cent of the print produced, at speeds in excess of 300 meters per minute, thus ensuring acceptable print quality throughout the run.  In addition, it is able to detect print errors in real time such as  streaks and voids; out-of-position and out-of-alignment images; controlled document verification (as required when manufacturing pharmaceutical leaflets); and colour registration verification.

Using new functionality, printers can scan every barcode printed on a label web or rewinder during the print process to verify the barcode grade.   If a low score is identified, typically below a C, the printer can address it immediately, therefore reducing waste significantly and improving confidence in the quality of their print.  The technology is also appropriate for other print applications such as in line variable data integrity for a wide variety of narrow web label, lottery and ticket inspection applications.
