Lake Image adds two apprentices to its workforce

Press Release

Lake Image Systems, the worldwide leader in vision control and verification systems, has hired two new apprentices at their UK headquarters in Tring.

Charlie Sheldon, 23 and Tom Stoner, 19, are both training to become field service engineers and were shortlisted from a group of eight candidates to complete a two year training course with Lake Image.

The new recruits will move around Lake Image’s different divisions, gaining skills including field installation, design and development, software and hardware testing, technical purchasing and stock control.

To comply with requirements of the apprenticeship scheme set by not-for-profit company ATG Training, an independent training provider, Lake Image will need to fulfil stringent obligations over the two year period, to bring the candidates into an employment environment.

Tom Stoner, 19, said: “It can be really difficult for young people to find employment in the current job market with little experience so I definitely feel privileged for the opportunity to train with professionals in my chosen field.”

Martin Keats, Managing Director of Lake Image UK, said: “It’s the first time Lake Image has taken on apprentices, but we are firm believers in trainee schemes. Several members of our team, including myself, started our careers as apprentices so we can fully appreciate how valuable the experience can be. The schemes offer trainees an avenue to really get involved and gain an insight into working in the industry and handle decisions and issues faced in the workplace every day.”

Lake Image is a leader in the field of document and variable print data integrity with 28 staff in the UK office and further offices in France, US and Asia.
