What is Discovery PQ?

Discovery Print Inspection systems, Discovery PQ and Discovery Web Monitor, is a family of line scan camera based print quality monitoring and inspection solutions which integrate onto new or legacy continuous and cut sheet printing equipment.  Using ultra high resolution line scan cameras to image the entire document or web, Discovery Web Monitor provides a unique approach to colour web monitoring and viewing in full HD. Discovery PQ performs full intelligent quality inspections, with fault diagnosis, alarm and defect roll mapping for post processing defect location and control. 

Based on a Windows XP software platform, Discovery PQ uses a range of quality inspection, integrity verification and reporting tools to ensure print quality, provide machine control and generate comprehensive defect and job reports.  Discovery Web Monitor uses unique picture in picture processing to provide automated close up images of critical print areas, while simultaneously displaying the entire web width.

Discovery's software package is scalable so that our clients only purchase what they need but can turn any or all additional tools on at any time.  Lake Image Systems has standard integration packages available for virtually all brands of digital, offset and label/ticket printing equipment.
